Fern & Flour Cafe
A cozy corner of Portland for slow mornings, single-origin coffee, and bread baked the same day you eat it.
About
Our Story
Fern & Flour started in 2019 as a two-table corner shop on a quiet Portland street, and it still feels like one. We pull every shot on a single-group lever machine, source our beans from a small Northwest roaster, and proof our sourdough overnight so the first loaves come out of the oven by 6am. Most mornings you'll find regulars by name, a dog or two by the door, and the smell of cardamom buns drifting out onto the sidewalk. We're not trying to be the biggest cafe in town — just your favorite one.

What we do
Menu Highlights
Single-Origin Pour Over
Rotating Northwest-roasted beans, brewed by the cup. Ask the bar what's on today — it changes weekly.
House Sourdough
Proofed overnight, baked at dawn. Served toasted with cultured butter and sea salt, or as our daily avocado toast.
Cardamom Morning Buns
Laminated by hand, rolled in raw sugar and cardamom. They sell out by 10am — we're sorry in advance.
Oat Milk Cortado
Our most-ordered drink. Two ristretto shots cut with steamed oat milk for something silky and not too sweet.
Seasonal Galettes
Flaky, rustic, and built around whatever the farmers market gives us — stone fruit in summer, squash come fall.
Loose-Leaf Tea
A small, carefully chosen tea list for the non-coffee crowd, steeped to order in cast iron pots.
